Trompe L’œil

Trompe l’œil is a painting technique designed to create the illusion of three-dimensional space on a flat surface. Through careful use of perspective, light, shadow, and detail, the artwork appears to extend beyond the wall, making painted elements look real and dimensional.

I often work in this tradition because it allows the artwork to feel integrated into the architecture, as if the space itself has expanded or transformed.

Every mural begins with a concept sketch and color study. From there, I incorporate client feedback and refine the design. Concepts are shared digitally, allowing for clear communication and easy revisions.
I typically offer a complimentary concept sketch for serious clients who fill out the application form and provide photos of the site.
Mural pricing starts at $3,000. Final cost varies depending on size, color palette, level of detail, design complexity, surface conditions, and installation requirements.

The final mural will closely reflect the approved design, but slight variations are natural in a hand-painted process. Colors, textures, and small details may shift as I respond to the wall and the space during installation. These adjustments are part of creating a finished piece that feels cohesive and fully integrated on site.

Because so much of my work celebrates the natural world, it feels important that my process reflects the same care.

I prioritize reclaimed and responsibly sourced materials whenever possible and use only non-VOC paints, keeping the work safer for people and gentler on the environment.

These choices are small but meaningful ways I try to align my practice with the values I paint about every day.
